Zicco Mkanda set to leave Mozambican club
Malawian international striker, Zicco Mkanda, look set to leave Mozambican club, Liga Desportiva de Maputo in the January transfer window.
Mkanda confirmed that he was aiming for new challenges, but fell short of disclosing his next destination.
“I will be on the move. I have stayed with Liga Desportiva de Maputo for five solid years and I have won three league titles,” he explained.
“I have won three super cup titles and two Mcel cup titles to make it eight titles. I think it is time to go and face another challenge.”
Mkanda, while refusing to disclose potential suitors, hinted that he was likely to leave Mozambique altogether.
“Playing outside Mozambique is my first priority. For your own information, I have been engaged in Mozambican league for eight years now. I will love to leave as a hero after scooping the club’s top goal scorer award for two consecutive seasons,” he added.
Mkanda, whose goal in May won the Flames 2015 Cosafa Cup Plate Division championship, came off the bench to win his club Mozambique Cup last weekend against Desportivo de Beira in Mozambique Cup final.
