Zimbabwe giants Dynamos have confirmed their participation in the 2023 Nyasa Big Bullets Pre-Season International Tournament slated for March 3 to 5 at Kamuzu Stadium.
The tournament is set to return after two-year break due to the Covid pandemic.
Dynamos spokesperson Tinashe Farawo said they will use the tournament to prepare for the new season.
’’We are coming as part of our pre-season preparations. We are in the process of assembling our team but we are almost done,’’ Farawo said.
The tournament will attract four teams namely hosts Bullets, Mighty Mukuru Wanderers, Dynamos and Mocambola champions UD Songo.
However, Songo are yet to confirm their participation in the tournament.
Bullets Chief Administration Officer Albert Chigoga said two other teams are on standby.
’’Songo will confirm this week but we have plan B as two teams are anxiously waiting. It will be premature to disclose their names,’’ Chigoga said.
During the 2019 edition, Chicken Inn from Zimbabwe, Songo, Wanderers and Bullets took part.
Chicken Inn won the tournament.
Songo have Malawian player John Banda.
Sports analyst Sherry Msuku said the tournament will help the teams assess their players.
Bullets successfully defended the TNM Super League for four consecutive years under the tutelage of Kalisto Pasuwa. They also won the FDH Bank Cup.
Dynamos finished third in Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League with 58 points from 34 matches,17 points behind champions FC Platinum.
