Zitherepano in 25th anniversary

One of the popular entertainment outfits in Mangochi District, Zitherepano, has clocked 25 years this year.

The entertainment outfit, which has hosted several events including the first show for Sand Music Festival, has since organised a mega show Friday to celebrate the 25th anniversary and also 50th birthday of Zitherepano’s founder Victoria Kingstone, who is also a member of Parliament.

Zitherepano Entertainment and Events Manager Vincent Kwinda said Wednesday that they were happy with the growth they have made since the establishment of the club.

“Looking back to where we started, it has been a long journey but we are where we are today because of the support that people have given us. This is why we have organised this mega show to celebrate with people our 25th anniversary,” Kwinda said.

He said Zitherepano will continue its vibrancy of hosting classic entertainment events.

“Entertainment will remain our heartbeat. We continue to grow the business and at the same time work hand in hand with artists from all the corners and give them a platform to shine,” Kwinda said.

The mega show tomorrow will feature artists such as Black Missionaries, Eli Njuchi, Paul Subili and Alleluya Band, Joe Gwaladi and old-timer Giddes Chalamanda.

Blacks lead vocalist Anjiru Fumulani congratulated Zitherepano for the 25th anniversary.

“Zitherepano has been there for artists, supporting and giving us space for our performances. We value their support and wish them all the best as they continue to support the creative sector,” Anjiru said.
