Popular Mangochi entertainment hub Zitherepano will on October 15 hold its first Mothers Day show.
Proprietor Victoria Kingstone said yesterday that they thought it wise as an entertainment centre to give mothers a treat hence hosting the show.
“Since we started as Zitherepano, we have never hosted a Mothers Day show and so, this year, we felt we should give mothers a treat. This is a special day for mothers and as Zitherepano, we value the important work that mothers do,” Kingstone said.
She further said that being the first event, Zitherepano will also sell raffle tickets at K500 and that winners will walk away with assorted items.
“The first 50 ladies will receive rechargeable torches. All we want is to celebrate with mothers but also as Zitherepano we want to show that we value mothers,” she said.
During the event, mothers will be treated to a performance by Black Missionaries as well as Anthony Mr Cool Makondetsa, Khonzie Masimbe and Yanjanani Chumbu.
She said as Zitherepano, they have come a long way and that they are making progress celebrating 19 years this year.
“At the moment the biggest challenge we are facing is the blackouts and it is so expensive to run the centre on generators. Two years ago heavy rains flooded the whole place but now we have fixed everything. We have also managed to open a Carlsberg wholesale depot just opposite the club and all this is to make Zitherepano the best when it comes to entertainment,” Kingstone said.
