Ndindi Mally, who is also a visual artist, said artists have a duty to play in sensitising people about different issues.

“We have seen fellow artists playing their part and releasing songs, poems and disseminating different messages. And so, as artists representing Musicians Union of Malawi (Mum) in Eastern Region chapter, we thought we should do our own song,” Mally said.

Having worked on the audio of the song, Mally, said they were expected to start shooting its music video yesterday.

He then called for support from the government and the corporate world to assist them in such projects to reach out to more people.

“We don’t want to stop here, we want to use online platforms to push the song so that people access it and get the message. But for us to do this, we need support. It is not only us so to say, there are lots of artists who are in this but are failing to make progress because of lack of funding. In the absence of live performances where we get our income, we can be supported through these initiatives,” the dreadlocked artist said.

Stemak real name Steven Makwinja, said the track has also been sent to different radio stations across the country for airplay.

“We are here to spread the message in the fight against coronavirus. This will help many people out there to take good care of themselves,” Stemak said.
