Zonke Dikana faces Patience Namadingo
South Africa’s singer Zonke is expected to arrive in the country today ahead of the Standard Bank’s Blue Mingoli concert to be held at Bingu International Conference Centre in Lilongwe Saturday.
The award winning musician real name Zonke Dikana said recently in a video that she was excited to perform in the country and called upon people to come in large numbers.
She further said that music was life hence people should come and have fun.
Zonke will share the stage with singer and guitarist Patience Namadingo, who has since said people should watch the space as they will be in for a surprise.
The artist said during a press conference yesterday in Blantyre that he wants to take advantage of the show to market himself and embrace international platforms.
“I have had massive rehearsals and I am ready for the stage,” Namadingo said.
Standard Bank Head of Marketing and Communications Thoko Unyolo said the bank is thrilled to bring this gifted artist to this year’s jazz concert.
“Zonke is an artist overloaded with amazing talent complemented by endless experiences. Her style of music has been mainly laid back on a soulful live vibe, with the feel of the well-known acid Jazz innovators setting her apart from other artists,” said Unyolo.
This year will also see Art House led by visual artist Elson Kambalu be part of the Blue Mingoli by holding an exhibition.
The Blue Mingoli started as Joy of Jazz and some of the artists that have performed so far include South Africa’s Lira and Zahara and US jazz maestro Earl Klugh.
