Ireland-based musician Pop Dogg has admitted that he took a break off his music errands because the current music climate is not inspiring.
“It is extremely stagnant, hard to stay fully motivated without inspiration. Hip hop artists nowadays are not making the real hip hop music with positive messages. I feel nowadays people do not know the difference, people are focusing on viral moments, likes and views rather than the art itself,” he said.
After being quiet for some time, Pop Dogg has reappeared with a 10-track titled Return of the Ninja which will be released Saturday.
The artist real name, Ibrahim Haji said prior to writing and recording this album, he also took time off musically to focus on family.
Pop Dogg said yesterday that the new project includes previously released singles such as ‘Work So Hard’ featuring Dan Lu and ‘Vibes’ featuring Mazi Floss from Nigeria.

He boasted that this is a must listen album which is wrapped with mature songs of love, struggles, politics, motivation and inspiration.
“I would classify this album as having songs that appeal to everyone because I have breathed in genres such as hip hop, R&B and afro pop,” Pop Dogg said.
He said it was necessary for him to tap into politics looking at the current political climate.
“I feel like songs like ‘Kunja Kwacha’ and ‘Stupid Federation’ have very positive messages and I hope to inspire people in high places to do better,” the artist said.

On songs of struggle, the artist said people share same struggles and that as musicians; they needed to tackle such things to bring about change.
“For example, people are struggling, grappling with high gas prices, food, the cost of living in general and lack of job opportunities amongst the youth is quite appalling,” he said.
Pop Dogg said during Covid pandemic, the world stopped revolving however; he took his time to go to the darkest places in order to find the spark that needed to ignite him.
“I had to channel my inner self at the core in order to create this album. I wanted to create an authentic hip hop album with positive messages that tackle important issues,” he said.
This is Pop Dogg’s third album having previously dropped Spit Real and Enter The Ninja.
