Two FCB Nyasa Big Bullets fans who were arrested for allegedly damaging their team’s bus on August 10, 2025 have been remanded to Chichiri Prison in Blantyre pending further investigations by police.
Blantyre Senior Resident Magistrate Lawrence Mchilima adjourned the case to September 1, 2025 after the State requested for ample time to conclude investigations.
Police arrested the two, who they have identified as Paul Majawa and Edison Chilabade, on Friday. The suspects are answering the charge of causing malicious damage to property.
Mchilima denied the two individuals bail, citing continued investigations by the State. This followed a request by Davie Kusamale of Blantyre Police, who requested the court to allow the State to keep the suspects in police custody for five more days, meaning that they will return to court on September 1, 2025 to take plea.
“Your worship, the State continues with investigations and our investigation team is on the ground to effect more arrests and we will be ready with our evidence in the next five days,” Kusamale said.

Meanwhile, police have arrested a third suspect –whose name they have withheld—in connection with the case. Unconfirmed reports from Bullets indicate that the team spent over K2 million on repairing the bus’s damaged windows and some parts of the body, which were holed.
However, Bullets Chief Executive Officer Albert Chigoga declined to comment on the matter when contacted. Some irate Bullets fans went on rampage, pelting the team’s bus and players with stones and other objects after the side squandered a two-goal lead to draw 3-3 with Karonga United at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre on August 30.
