Attorney General (AG) Frank Mbeta has said there is nothing that can stop the Malawi Electoral Commission (Mec) from relocating its head office from the capital Lilongwe to Blantyre City.
Mbeta told The Daily Times that he expected Mec to honour an Executive
Order to revert its office to the commercial city.
“This is an Executive Order which must be complied with. On the other hand, there is nothing to prevent the implantation of the Executive Order,” he said.

The AG also said ongoing court battles did not justify Mec’s position not to move to Blantyre.
