FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Reserve and Mighty Mukuru Wanderers Reserve transferred the junior Blantyre derby to AG Dimba Stadium in Mchinji District on Sunday with a place in the AG Dimba Cup semifinal at stake.
In the end, it was Bullets Reserve who made it after hammering their Thumbs Up Southern Region Football League archrivals 4-0 courtesy of Gift Lamowa’s brace and a goal each from Francis Malikebu and Gift Jossam.
The junior People’s Team scored two goals in each half to book a date with Namitete Zitha in the last four of the K5 million cup.
Bullets Reserve Coach Enos Chatama said his charges went into the match low on confidence after failing to perform in the last five league matches.
“This was a very good match considering that we were not confident about winning it after posting several draws and a loss. We just lost our rhythm. But we told them that it was possible to start a new lease of life from this match. So they responded and played better.

“They played according to instructions and defended very well. We hit them hard on the counter and scored four beautiful goals. We will continue to build our confidence from this result. We still have two matches to go before wrapping up this campaign. So it is still a long way to go,” Chatama said.
Wanderers Reserve Coach Bob Mpinganjira accepted defeat, saying his team did not play well.
“We conceded goals that we could have easily defended. We just did not play well.
“We made way too many mistakes in our goal area. We did not play our game and we were just all over the place. But we must accept that this is a developmental team where we are grooming players to prepare them for the senior team,” Mpinganjira said.

Sponsor Aubrey Dimba hailed the two teams for entertaining football lovers in the border district.
“We thoroughly enjoyed the classic football which was on display here. It was like watching the main teams themselves,” Dimba said.
In the other semifinal, Santhe Admarc will take on Kawinga FC on Sunday at AG Dimba Stadium.
