Former Malawi National Football Team stars Charles Manda has joined coach Meke Mwase at eSwatini side Nsingizini Hotspurs as assistant.
The two have re-united having previously worked together at Mbabane Highlanders.
The two had a successful spell at Mbabane where they guided the team to a second-place finish.
According to eSwatini Observer, Manda joined the club in July this year.
In an interview yesterday, Manda said he was excited with his return to eSwatini.
’’It feels great to work with Mwase again. We have been together for a long time and I do not doubt that this reunion will bring good results to the team,’’ Manda said.
Before joining Nsingizini, Manda was in Lesotho where he mentored several clubs such as Bantu FC. He worked in the mountain kingdom for about five years.
In a separate interview, Mwase also confirmed the development.
’’He is here and I am happy to work with him. We even went together to Durban, South Africa, for pre-season camp training. I believe we will have a great season together,’’ Mwase said.
Nsingizini have also signed several players including Lucky Gamedze, Njabulo Dlamini, Bheki Mlotsa, Felizwe Vilakati, Simon Moukete and Reagan Kapumbu.
Mwase joined Nsingizini on a two-and-half year contract, succeeding compatriot Gerald Phiri Snr.
Last season, he guided Nsingizini to a sixth-place finish with 38 points from 26 matches.
Mwase is one of the highly-rated coaches in Malawi having guided the Flames to the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations finals in Cameroon.
However, he was replaced with Romanian Mario Marinica after the finals.
Malawi also has Peter Mponda and John Maduka who are coaching abroad.
Mponda is an assistant at Black Leopards while Maduka is in charge at Royal AM in South Africa.
