The grand finale of Miss Culture Malawi and Mrs Culture which is running for the first time will be held tonight at Sunbird Capital Hotel in Lilongwe.
Organisers Lush Africa Foundation said Thursday all is set for the crowning of Miss Culture Malawi and Mrs Culture Malawi with 10 finalists battling it out for the Miss Culture Malawi whereas five will shrug it out for the Mrs Culture Malawi crown.
Chief Executive Officer for Lush Africa and Miss Culture Global and Miss Culture Malawi, Lorraine Kljajic, said they were priviledged to have the presence of Minister of Local Government, Unity and Culture Richard Chimwendo Banda during the grand finale.
“We are 100 percent ready for the grand finale although we could not get some international visitors coming but we have Miss Tourism Lesotho, who has confirmed her presence. She will be arriving on Friday (today) as she is also one of the judges,” she said.
Kljajic said Miss Culture Malawi will among others, walk away with a fully paid scholarship from Exploits University, smartphone from Liqui Flo and one year cosmetics supply from Glam n Glory.
“As for Mrs Culture Malawi, we also have a package as a winner, she will among others, get a land from Innobuild, smartphone from Liqui Flo and one year cosmetics supply from Glam n Glory,” she said.
The judges for the event are celebrated fashion designer Lilly Alfonso, musician Hazel Mak and Desmond Bikoko.
The red carpet event will also be spiced up by performances from Hazel Mak, Bucci, Nyago and Tay Grin.
The grand finale also follows a Glamorous and Glorious Connect that Lush Africa held recently which was dedicated to celebrating the power and beauty of women.
The Miss Culture Malawi 2022 is Memory Sanjira said Thursday she has had an amazing experience during her tenure.
“I had time to engage in a number of projects aimed at bringing about change. I interacted with different people. I can’t say I managed to fulfil everything and so, I am hopeful that the next queen will finish that. Through this platform, I managed to earn a scholarship to study as well,” Sanjira said.
