TNM Super League debutants Ekhaya Football Club has dangled a lucrative deal worth over K1.5 million monthly salary to entice Malawi National Football Team left back Alick Lungu to sign a long-term deal with the Cowboys.
This comes after Lungu signed a short-term deal with Ekhaya following his departure from FCB Nyasa Big Bullets upon the expiry of his contract.
According to the contract which Times Sport has seen, Ekhaya have also offered Lungu a game bonus of K100,000 and executive membership on a medical scheme.
The offer has a clause of an improved game bonus based on the team’s performance.
Lungu’s manager Jonathan Mhango confirmed the development, saying they were yet to discuss the issue with his client.

“We are giving it serious consideration. He might sign a long-term deal at Ekhaya. I will be meeting him personally for a talk,” Mhango said.
One of Ekhaya’s officials, Ricco Mpinganjira, did not respond to our questionnaire.
Meanwhile, football analyst Dyson Musa, who is also a player agent, has said the emergence of Ekhaya has brought healthy competition to the domestic market in terms of money power.
“This is a big statement by a newly promoted side. Spending that much on a player who also plays for the national team and still harbours the ambition of playing outside the country shows how serious they are.

“I like the ambition and the competition it brings on the local scene for us to develop football further. We need serious investors like these in the modern game,” Musa said.
There are unconfirmed reports that Lungu has an offer from one of the team’s from Turkey and might leave the country in August this year.
