Jamaican reggae musician Everton Blender said on Friday he is ready to give reggae fans the finest of his music ahead of his debut act at the 2023 Reggae Jam Music Festival to be held at Grand Business Park in Lilongwe this coming Saturday.
The artist, who is set to share the stage with fellow Jamaican artist Luciano popularly known as Jah Messenger and local acts arrived in the country through Kamuzu International Airport in Lilongwe on Saturday.
“I am very excited to be in Malawi. This is really the Warm Heart of Africa because people have welcomed me with happy faces. I cannot wait to jump on that stage and entertain the reggae fans,” Blender said.
The reggae fans gave the artist a tumultuous welcome as they chanted some of his songs.
The singer and producer known for his smooth, crooning, tenor vocals and up-tempo arrangement’s said he has had massive rehearsals.
Some of his songs include ‘Lift Up Your Head’ and ‘Sing for Jah’.
While Blender will be debuting in the country, Luciano, who is expected to arrive in the country tomorrow, is not new as he last performed in Malawi in 2014.
One of the members of Jah Kings Promotions, organisers of the event, Richard Chisala, said the arrival of Blender shows their seriousness for the festival.
The line-up of local acts performing at the festival includes Black Missionaries, Blasto, Don Tarz, Queen Fyah and Chizmo.
