Football Association of Malawi (Fam) Marketing and Broadcasting Manager, Tulipo Mwenelupembe, has been appointed as the Assistant General Coordinator for the first leg of the Caf Champions League final between Mamelodi Sundowns and Pyramids FC.
The match will take place on Saturday, May 24, at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in South Africa.
Mwenelupembe expressed humility over the appointment and hailed the association’s leadership.
“It is a great honour to be appointed for such a high-profile match, and I thank God for this opportunity. I would also like to express my sincere gratitude to Fam, especially President Fleetwood Haiya, for creating an environment that allows us to excel not only locally but also on the international stage,” he said.
This marks another milestone in Mwenelupembe’s growing portfolio of Caf assignments.
Earlier this year, he served in the same role for the Caf Champions League semi-final first leg between Orlando Pirates and Pyramids FC at FNB Stadium (April 2025), a Caf Confederation Cup Group Stage match between Simba SC and CS Constantine at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium (January 2025) and the Zamalek SC versus Al Masry clash at Borg El Arab Stadium in Alexandria, Egypt (December 2024).
