Silver Strikers have written Super League of Malawi (Sulom) expressing unhappiness with the fixtures for the 2024 TNM Super League which rolls into life this afternoon.
The Central Bankers are the second team to lodge a complaint with Sulom on the fixtures after Mighty Mukuru Wanderers.
In an interview on Friday, Silver Chief Executive Officer Patrick Chimimba confirmed the development.
“We have engaged Sulom and we hope they will understand our grievances. It is not good for players to play a match in Blantyre and the following week in Mzuzu. We hope the fixtures will be revised,” Chimimba said.
Silver, who finished as runners-up last season, open the 2024 season with a fixture against 2023 surprise package Chitipa United at Silver Stadium.

Last season, Silver and Chitipa drew 0-0 in the first round match at Civo Stadium but the Bankers won 1-0 the second round fixture at Karonga Stadium. Silver will play two consecutive home matches as they host Bangwe All Stars in their second match before facing Dedza away.
Thereafter, Silver will host Mafco before a trip to the Northern Region for a match against rookies Baka City.
In total, Silver have nine home games and six away matches in the first round.
This means they will have nine away matches and six home matches in the second round.

Fellow giants FCB Nyasa Big Bullets open their 2024 season with a match against Dedza this afternoon before meeting Mighty Tigers at home next week. Bullets have nine away matches in the first round and six home matches
For Wanderers, they will host Kamuzu Barracks at Kamuzu Stadium tomorrow before facing Fomo away next week.
Just like Bullets, Wanderers have nine away matches in the first round and six home matches.
Sulom General Secretary Williams Banda was yet to respond to our questionnaire as we went to press yesterday.
However, sports analyst Sherry Msuku said the clubs have raised genuine concerns.
“To be fair, the clubs should play eight or seven away games in the first round. Sulom should try to balance the fixtures,” Msuku said.
Silver lost 7-6 to Bullets in the NBS Bank Charity Shield last week.
