The battle for TNM Super League championship and relegation might take a new twist as leaders FCB Nyasa Big Bullets face Red Lions at Balaka Stadium this afternoon.
This is a match of two teams with contrasting goals.
Bullets will be hoping to take a giant step towards retaining the title as they are tied on 54 points with rivals Mighty Mukuru Wanderers.
But they are on top on goal difference and they also have three games in hand.
This is a perfect chance for Bullets to extend the lead at the summit of the log table.

For Lions, the match is of the life-and-death type.
The soldiers are stuck in the relegation zone with 28 points from 28 matches.
But victory in today’s match will keep their survival hopes alive heading into the final match against brothers-in-arm Moyale Barracks, who are also not safe at this stage.
Back in 2018, Lions were in a similar situation and lost 3-0 to Bullets at the same venue as they were relegated from the TNM Super League.

Fast forward, the soldiers believe they can hand Bullets their second loss of the season and derail them in their chase for a fifth straight title and 17th in total.
Heading into the match, Lions have a score to settle, having lost 5-1 to Bullets in the first round at Kamuzu Stadium.
Red Lions Assistant Coach Malumbo Mkandawire said his troops will come flat out.
“This is a must-win match for us. The players know the importance of the match. We will do everything possible to get all the three points,” Mkandawire said.
Bullets are coming straight from a 1-1 draw with Wanderers.
Coach Kalisto Pasuwa has told his players to double their efforts to get maximum points against Lions.
“We expect a tough game against Red Lions,” he said.
Bullets will face Blue Eagles at Nankhaka Stadium on Sunday before meeting Dedza Dynamos on Wednesday next week
