FCB Nyasa Big Bullets have not confirmed their participation in this year’s Central Africa Football Associations (Cecafa) Kagame interclub Club slated for July 6 to 22 in Tanzania and Zanzibar.
This comes one week after the team was invited to the tournament alongside Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) giants TP Mazembe and Zambia champions Red Arrows.

However, Bullets Chief Administration Officer Albert Chigoga said the club’s hierarchy is still banging heads on the invitation.
“We are yet to make a decision about whether to participate or not,” Chigoga said.
The draw for this year’s competition is expected to be conducted next week.

The 2024 Cecafa Kagame Cup is expected to attract 16 teams including APR from Rwanda, Gor Mahia from Kenya, Simba SC and Young Africans (both Tanzania), Al Hilal and El Merrekh (both from Sudan).
However, media reports in Tanzania indicate that Mazembe are also not sure on participation in the tournament as they will resume training on July 15.
“Management indicates that the players are on leave and that training will resume on July 15 2024 at 3pm at the TP Mazembe Stadium,” reported The Guardian.
Sports analyst Willy Cham’mbwinja said Bullets should participate in Cecafa Cup to prepare for Caf Champions League.

“Bullets have struggled in the league this season; so, the Cecafa Cup will help them a lot. It will be a good opportunity for the technical panel to assess players,” Cham’mbwinja said.
Bullets already confirmed their participation in the 2024 Caf Champions League despite struggling in the early stages of the season. During the 2021 Cecafa Cup, Bullets finished as runners-up following a 1-0 loss to Express FC from Uganda under the then assistant coach Peter Mponda, who is now coach for Silver Strikers.
