Lilongwe-based hip-hop musician Henry Czar has used his latest single ‘Nda?’ to dare young people to be creative and innovative in order to help in the development of the country.
The artist, real name Henry Kanjanga, says in ‘Nda?’ that the youth need to learn from their ancestors, who strived for greatness to bring about change.
“When I was writing the song, I was inspired by how innovative our ancestors were to manage to come up with things that we see today,” Czar said.
The ‘Kukula’ and ‘Good Energy’ creator takes time, in the song, to talk about heroes such as John Chilembwe.
“Our ancestors were brave in discovering things and proving theories. We need to learn from them and also build from there. There is a need for mindset change to make the world better,” he said.
The artist said, with technology moving at a fast pace, it was high time young people woke up from their slumber and brought about solutions.
“Now a lot of young people are not innovative, We just complain and not come up with solutions; so, ‘Nda?’ is telling the youth to wake up,” he said.
The artist has released both the audio and video for the track.
The video has since received praise from people for the creativity as the artist has impersonated people like Chilembwe.
The former member of Ukali Music group said he believes in telling stories in a comic way in order to connect with people.
Some of the songs to his acclaim include ‘Amuna ndi Agalu’ and ‘Kudya Mutu’.
