President Lazarus Chakwera has described Dedza Centre former member of Parliament Daniel Chiwere as the epitome of true servant leadership
Chakwera said this Thursday when he joined thousands of Malawians that attended Chiwere’s burial at Kalinyeke in Dedza District.
The legislator died of pneumonia at Kamuzu Central Hospital (KCH) in Lilongwe on July 17, less than a month after his wife died on July 21.
Chakwera said Chiwere lived in peace with all people without being attached to corruption or any theft, something, he said, is worth emulating.
The Malawi leader also advised Chiwere family members to continue taking good care of children and called on members of the governing Malawi Congress Party (MCP) to always tell the truth.

Speaking on behalf of Parliament, First Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Madalitso Kazombo hailed Chiwere for living in peace with every legislator.
Kazombo also commended him for various development projects he implemented in his constituency, including paying tuition fees for needy students.

“I am bereaved because Chiwere was one of the active youths in the party,” Mkaka said.
Speaking on behalf of the Chiwere family, Patrick Dziko said Chiwere was taken to ABC Clinic, where was referred to KCH— where he died.
“It is a shock to us; he has left us with many questions than answers but we, as believers [in God], just accept the reality,” Dziko said.
Dziko assured Chakwera that the family would take care of the children
According to Church of Central Africa Presbyterian of Nkhoma Synod, Chiwere was a dedicated Christian who served in various positions and supported church projects.
Born on July 20 1974, Chiwere is survived by four children and served as lawmaker since 2014.
