Malawi is among 10 African countries that are expected to spend significantly more than they collect in revenue in 2026.
According to Business Insider Africa, Malawi’s projected fiscal deficit, which is equivalent to 9 percent of gross domestic product (GDP), places it among the countries with the largest budget deficits on the continent.
