Malawi’s two remaining representatives in My Booth reality show, Chisomo Chimoto and Joe Kellz, on Sunday made it to the final alongside Evans Ndalama and Roy-The Songster from Zambia.
Chimoto and Kellz showed their strength when they evaded eviction which saw Zimbabwe’s Taffie Matiure and Zambia’s Rock Peter Africa kicked out.
The eviction of Matiure leaves Zimbabwe with no representative.
Chimoto said Monday she was excited to have reached this far.
“I am looking forward to the finale and I hope to do it for Malawi,” she said.

Elation Entertainment Chief Executive Officer Sokwani Chilembo, who is one of the judges, said the grand finale of My Booth will be held on August 20 2023.
Chilembo further said that there was a twist to the reality show which was introduced on Sunday by the presenter.
“The judges decided that we will have what we are calling out-of-the booth performances where all the contestants who were evicted will be given another chance to perform amongst themselves so that the one who will win will be the fifth contestant making it into the grand finale with the world card,” he said.
Chilembo said that there is that world card that is in place where one person from all those that have been eliminated will make it into the grand finale to join the four for the ultimate prize.

“In this segment of out of the booth, it will also involve not only the judges voting but the viewers will have a chance to vote for their favourite contestant that they would like to see come back and this will be rolled out this coming Sunday,” he said.
This move is set to give Malawian representatives Vanessa Nalikungwi, Alipo Mpita and Sindi, who were evicted to get a spot to the grand finale.
Chilembo said it has been a tough journey in the reality show and that it has exposed great talent.
“It has been tough really for the judges to make decisions but, at the end of it all, the representative from Zimbabwe struggled.
“We are trying to build artists that can grasp different concepts, genres, languages in the shortest possible time and that’s why, going into the grand finale, this was one of the toughest challenges that contestants faced because none of them was allowed to sing songs from their countries,” he said.
Chilembo described the four that have made it to the finale as ‘real great talents’.
The reality show, which started in May, pulled five contestants each from three countries, Malawi, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
Apart from Chilembo, the other judges of the competition are the country’s musician Patience Namadingo, who is signed to Elation Entertainment, Maureen Lilanda and Blessing Bled Chimanga from Zimbabwe.
Through My Booth, the contestants are sharing one house, band and microphone for the ultimate prize of $50,000 recording deal and $ 10,000 cash.
Meanwhile, Big Brother (BB) Naija Season 8, which is featuring, among others, housemates from the previous editions, premiered on Sunday in Nigeria.
Hosted by Ebuka, the reality show, featuring 20 housemates, will run for 72 days, with the winner expected to walk away with a grand prize of 120 million Naira.
