Mighty Mukuru Wanderers have fired Administrative Officer Steve Palemeza on disciplinary grounds, Times Sport has learnt.
The development follows a disciplinary hearing which was held at Ekhaya House on September 18 2023.
“I am writing to inform you that you have been summarily dismissed as Administrative Officer at Mighty Mukuru Wanderers Football Club 2021 Limited.
“This follows the disciplinary hearing [at] which you were in attendance. The Board of Directors confirmed the recommendations from the ad hoc Disciplinary Committee which found you guilty by your own admission on all the three counts that you were answering,” the letter, dated September 29 and signed by the club’s chief executive officer (CEO) reads.
The letter states that Palemeza will be paid his salary up to September 29 2023 and four accrued holidays for this season.

“You are advised to contact our finance department for your dues required to be paid. Mighty Mukuru Wanderers 2021 Limited would like to thank you for your service in all years you worked for us,” the CEO wrote on behalf of the club’s president and board of directors.
Meanwhile, Chairperson for the ad hoc disciplinary committee Humphreys Mvula confirmed recommending Palemeza’s firing.
“He was dismissed from our employment because he engaged in activities that were in conflict with his terms of employment. As a board, we have a duty to safeguard the good names of both sponsors and Mighty Wanderers,” Mvula said.
However, Palemeza could not be reached for his comment.
