MultiChoice Talent Factory (MTF) Academy has opened applications for its world class film and television training programme for the 2024 intake.
The country has benefitted tremendously from the MTF programme, producing graduates in Jonathan Kapumba, Chimwemwe Mkwezalamba, Mphatso Makamo, Chisomo Livason, Elsante Mbaimbai and Chisomo Kawaga.
In a statement, MTF says the applications will open today and close on July 14 2023.
The statement further says that the call is open to all emerging filmmakers, with either some industry experience or a relevant post-school qualification, to apply for the opportunity to hone their television and film production skills.
MTF Academy combines film studies such as directing, sound design, business of film, to name a few, with workplace experience on M-Net’s productions.
The 12-month fully funded programme is open to candidates from Southern, Western and East African countries under the leadership of three academy directors, Atinuke Babatunde (West Africa hub), Victoria Goro (East Africa hub) and Christopher Puta (Southern Africa hub).
MultiChoice Africa has since said that it is committed to building and sustaining the training to increase employment opportunities in Africa’s film and television industry.
