Tanzanian side Mbeya City FC has thrown the ball into Silver Strikers’ court over the possibility of signing midfielder Chimwemwe Idana permanently.
Idana’s loan deal with Silver will expire on Friday next week.
However, Mbeya Chief Executive Officer Emmanuel Kimbe told Malawi Broadcasting Corporation Radio 2FM sport that they are ready to discuss if Silver are still interested in the player.
“They are the ones who asked for a loan deal for the player.
“If they have anything, we can discuss. There is no problem,’’ Kimbe said.

Idana signed a one-and-a-half year contract with Mbeya as a free agent following the expiry of his contract with FCB Nyasa Bullets in January this year.
Before signing for Mbeya, the Malawi National Football Team midfielder had trials in South Africa but failed to secure a deal with DStv Premiership side Sekhukune United as the club’s foreign quota was full.
Idana’s manager Davie Matemba said his client will respect the loan agreement.
“I only know that Idana is on loan at Silver. If anything happens, we will communicate at an appropriate time,’’ Matemba said.

Idana has starred for Silver in the early stages of the season with several vital goals that have saved the Central Bankers from defeat.
Silver recognised his efforts by naming him Mika Greenland Player of TheMonth for April.
The Area 47-based team’s coach Pieter de Jongh said he would love Idana to stay.
“But the matter is not in my hands. Idana is a great player. I already told the board that I want him to stay and they are handling the matter,’’ the Dutchman said.
The former Bullets star featured for the Flames in a goalless stalemate with Ethiopia in a 2024 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at Zimpeto National Stadium in Maputo, Mozambique.
