Mighty Mukuru Wanderers’ newly appointed coach Nsanzurwimo Ramadhan is yet to report for duties more than a week after being appointed to take up the hot seat.
Ramadhan replaced Briton Mark Harrison who resigned in December following Wanderers’ failure to win silverware in the 2023 season.
The Nomads have since started preparations for the 2024 season at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre with assistant coach Meck Mwase taking charge.

Wanderers Taskforce Chairperson on Recruitment Tiya Somba Banda said Ramadhan will report after finalizing some personal issues.
“Mr Ramadhan is currently serving notice at the club where he is working [in Tanzania] and we expect him to start working on March 1. We are not worried with the delay as we anticipated it during the time of appointing him.
“We knew he was tied to a club and would not just leave immediately and report for duty at Wanderers. It would have been different if he was not working at any club,” Somba Banda said.
Former Wanderers and Malawi National Football Team player Sherry Msuku said Ramadhan’s late arrival will not affect the team in any way.
“The team is already undergoing preparations for the new season under Meck Mwase who is Ramadhan’s assistant and mostly, concentration is on the physical aspect of training. Ball work will be done may be in the second week of March, which is still okay. So there is no cause for alarm,” Msuku said.
Ramadhan has returned to Wanderers after a stint about twenty years ago and will be hoping to turn things around at the team which continues to underperform despite signing some of the best players in the country.
The Nomads are also one of the best-sponsored clubs in the country with business magnate Thomson Mpinganjira pumping in close to K1 billion in just two seasons.
The club offered Ramadhan and his technical panel a one year performance-based contract, challenging them to win the TNM Super League title and at least two cups.
Also making a return to Lali Lubani Road are Yasin Osman and Steve Madeira who were appointed technical director and team manager, respectively.
Wanderers finished third in the 2023 Super League and failed to win any cup despite promising their supporters a clean sweep at the beginning of the season.
