Former TNM Super League side Ntopwa are favourites to return to the top flight league as fellow contenders Bangwe All Stars and FCB Nyasa Big Bullets reserves are ineligible to qualify.
Bangwe lead Group A with Bullets dictating events in Group B.
The development gives Group B sides Ntopwa and Fomo to fight for the third place to earn Super League promotion.
Other teams that can fight for Super League promotion include Group A sides Ndirande Stars and Zingwangwa United.
However, Ntopwa Technical Director and owner Isaac Jomo Osman said his charges will work hard to return to the top flight league, two years after their relegation.

“It is not going to be easy but I know what it takes to win these games. Every team at this level is big and tough but we are Ntopwa. We always do it better,” Jomo said.
On his part, Ndirande Stars Chairperson Mike Lampu is cautious in their quest to get promoted.
“Let us all wait and see if we can cross the bridge. In the meantime, we will continue working hard,” he said.
Meanwhile, Southern Region Football Association (SRFA) Chairperson Raphael Humba confirmed that both Bullets and Bangwe reserves have been ruled out as they are ineligible.

“It is against our rules for a reserve side to play in the main league where the parent club also plays. This means that four teams Ndirande, Zingwangwa, Fomo and Ntopwa will battle for the third place to earn promotion to the Super League,” Humba said.
