Speaker of Parliament Sameer Suleman says Parliament has started taking steps to embark on a fresh probe into the military plane crash in Chikangawa Forest in Nkhata Bay that killed nine people, including former vice president Saulos Chilima.
Following the incident, which occurred on 20 June 2024, the former Malawi Congress Party (MCP)- led government facilitated investigations into the crash.
However, the outcome of the investigations did not satisfy some sections of society who called for a fresh probe.
