Silver Strikers are racing against time to beef up their squad for the 2025 Caf Champions League second preliminary round as the deadline looms.
The club has until today to register, or remove, players from their list ahead of their second-round clash against Tanzanian side Young African (Yanga) Sports Club next month.
Caf rules and regulations allow clubs to register new players for the second preliminary round.
But Silver interim coach Etison Kadenge Mwafulirwa said he was satisfied with members of his squad.
“We will play with another side; so, we will look into it. But we will maintain the squad we have, maybe we will just polish up on a few areas,” Mwafulirwa said.

The Central Bankers reached the second preliminary round for the first time on away goal-rule following a 1-1 stalemate with ASSM Elgeco Plus from Madagascar.
Silver and Elgeco played out to a goal-less stalemate at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe on Saturday.
Mwafulirwa, who was specifically hired for the Caf Champions League, praised the players for showing a fighting spirit.
“We knew that we were playing against a good team. If you look at that team, they have a lot of players who played for the Madagascar national team [recently]. As such, we knew that we needed to protect the away goal,” he said.

The former Mzuzu City Hammers coach will continue with his role as Silver coach for the competition as coach Peter Mgangira is not eligible as he does not have a Caf A coaching licence, which is a minimum qualification for the competition.
Silver Chief Executive Officer Patrick Chimimba concurred with Mwafulirwa, saying it would be difficult to beef up the squad.
“The transfer window is closed and, as such, we cannot sign players for the short term. We expect to, soon, welcome back other players from injury,” Chimimba said.
