Malawi women’s football icon Tabitha Chawinga has underlined her hunger for the golden boot after scoring a brace for Paris SG Women in the 4-0 thrashing of Le Havre Women on Saturday.
Chawinga is now topping the goal scorers table with 13 goals two above Lyon’s striker Ada Hegerberg, who is stuck at 11 goals.
Eugenie Le Sommer of Lyon lies third with nine goals.
Tabitha, who has won the golden boot in Italy, China and Sweden, said helping her side win was more important.
“I am delighted for the win because we are still in title contention,” she said.
It was the seventh consecutive home win for PSG Women and eighth successive home match without a draw. It is also the 14th consecutive match where PSG have scored.
Currently, Lyon Women are leading the table in the league and are four points clear of Paris SG Women in second position, and 12 points ahead of 3rd-place Paris FC Women.

Scorchers coach Lovemore Fazili hailed Tabitha for maintaining her goal scoring prowess.
“She is enjoying her form and the good thing is that she is putting her team first,” Fazili said.
Tabitha’s reputation of winning golden boot awards in her debut season in all countries she has played since 2014 in Sweden rates highly.
In China, she won the same award with 17 goals in 2017.
Tabitha is on loan at PSG from Chinese champions Wuhan Jiangda and was recently named in the Caf Fifpro best XI.
