Two long distance athletes Chikondi Mwanyali and Nalicy Chirwa have been selected to compete at the African Beach Championship in Tunisia.
Athletics Association of Malawi (AAM) General Secretary Frank Chitembeya said the pair is expected to leave the country on Sunday, having received support from the Malawi Olympic Committee (Moc).
“The two have been in fine form lately. When it comes to long distance, they are the best we have got at the moment. We are grateful to Moc for supporting us with return air-tickets and stipends for the pair,” he said.
Both Mwanyali and Chirwa said they are set to do well at the 10km event.
