US-based Malawi Women’s National Football Team striker Temwa Chawinga and TP Mazembe defender Chimwemwe Madise have been ruled out of the international friendly match against Morocco next week due to club commitments.
The Scorchers will face Morocco’s Atlas Lionesses next week on Thursday in Casablanca.
Scorchers coach Lovemore Fazili has not included the in-form Kansas City Current forward and Mazembe experienced defender in his 24-member squad for the international friendly match.
Football Association of Malawi (Fam) Competitions and Communications Director Gomezgani Zakazaka confirmed that both Temwa and Madise will not be available for the clash due to club engagements.
“The match will be played outside the Fifa Women’s International Window so they will not be available,” he said.

This will be the fourth straight match without Temwa having also missed the 3-2 victory over Zambia and two friendly matches against South Africa’s Banyana Banyana.
Temwa was not available for her comment Tuesday.
But her sister Tabitha Chawinga, who plays for French giants Olympique Lyonnais Feminine will be available as she was on an off-season break. Tabitha missed the two friendly matches against South Africa in April.

Apart from Tabitha, Fazili has also included France-based midfielder Rose Kabzere (Montpellier), Georgia based striker Sabina Thom (FC Lanchkhuti), Kazakhstan based duo of Vanesa Chikupira and Benadetta Mkandawire (both Biik Kazygurt).

Fazili has also included exciting talents such as Faith Chimzimu, Leticia Chinyamula, Victoria Mkwala, Fatima Lali, Asimenye Simwaka, Tendai Sani and Zainab Kapanda.
In an interview Tuesday, Fazili said the match will be a good opportunity to assess some of the players.
“We have many young players so it will be a chance to show us that they can be counted,” he said.
This will be the Scorchers fifth international friendly match after two matches each against Zambia and South Africa in February and April.
Meanwhile, the Scorchers are expected to leave for Morocco on Sunday June 15 and they will return on Friday June 20.
The Scorchers will face Angola in the TotalEnergies Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (Wafcon) qualifiers in October this year.
