Mighty Wanderers have lodged a complaint with Football Association of Malawi (Fam) over the conduct of alleged FCB Nyasa Big Bullets supporters during the NBS Bank Charity Shield match at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe on Saturday.
In a statement released Sunday and signed by Wanderers Board Secretary Chancy Gondwe, the NBS Bank Charity Shield 2026 winners have complained of what they call dangerous and unfootballing behaviour as alleged Bullets supporters threw bottles and some objects at Wanderers board members who occupied a corporate box W23, just above Bullets fans at the BNS.
In a statement copied to the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture and the Malawi National Council of Sports (MNCS), Wanderers have demanded strict actions against the perpetrators.
Part of the letter faults Fam for the organizational failure and unsafe placement of the corporate box for their team.
“We draw your attention to the fact that match organisers (under Fam/stadium management) placed our directors directly above the opposing team’s fan section, creating an inherently hostile environment. This constitutes a failure to ensure safety,” the statement reads.

Furthermore, Wanderers want the incident to be investigated fully through the CCTV footage and witness statements.
“Explain why our corporate box was placed directly above Bullets supporters. Identify and sanction the individuals who threw bottles, and hold Nyasa Big Bullets FC accountable under Article 15 of PLOM Constitution for the actions of their supporters.
Issue a public warning that such violent behaviour will not be tolerated,” the letter reads.
Gondwe confirmed signing the letter.

However, both Fam Chief Executive Officer Abdul Chiwalo and Operations Director Gomezgani Zakazaka were not available to comment.
Meanwhile, football analyst Henry Gome has faulted Fam’s organizing committee for placing Wanderers Corporate Box just above Bullets stand.
“We all saw what happened at Bingu and I wonder how the organising committee came up with such a decision and we want this investigated and bring to book all the culprits,” he said.
Wanderers won the match 1-0 through a second half strike by Sama Thierry Tanjong
