Art in the Park returns to the fold next month at Four Seasons in Lilongwe with 47 artists set to exhibit their works.
The biannual event now in its 12th edition will be on May 8 through to 10 2026.
Spearheaded by Wildlife and Environmental Society of Malawi (Wesm), the theme for this edition is on Wesm’s work with wildlife clubs, conservation of animals, plants and habitats.
Wesm Chairperson Nick Hall said Thursday that theme seeks to highlight the organisation’s role in environmental protection as well as inspire artists to interpret conservation in their own ways.

“We want the artists to be creative and show how art can connect people to the importance of protecting wildlife and habitats,” Hall said.
Apart from the exhibition, there will also be other activities at the event targeting both children and adults.
“To this far, Art in the Park has built a reputation as Malawi’s main platform for visual artists,” he said.
This year’s edition also serves as a fundraiser for Wesm.
