Lake of Stars Festival (LoS) organisers said Tuesday they are advancing proper plans to make sure that people enjoy the best of the Reactivated edition to be held at Fish Eagle Bay Lodge in Nkhotakota District from September 6 to 8 2024.
This is the first time for the festival which will be celebrating its 20th anniversary as well as 60 years of Malawi’s Independence, to be held in Nkhotakota.
“We are partnering logistics companies to run shuttles at a normal fee for festival punters from various high demand locations to the festival during the weekend… Kamuzu International Airport, Lilongwe, Blantyre and Mzuzu,” the festival’s Head of Media, Public Relations and Relationships Zilanie Gondwe, said.
Having announced the venue recently, some festival goers bemoaned the poor road network to patronise LoS.
But Gondwe said they will try their level best to make sure that festival goers get to the venue and back to their respective places safely.

“Local shuttles will also be available to increase safety and convenience for festival goers and income value for local transporters,” she said.
Gondwe said they were keeping track on progress of road works with the Nkhotakota District Commissioner and Roads Authority and that they will gladly publish progress via their social media pages in due course.
“We encourage people to car pool where they can. Signage along the way will be worked on with Roads Authority and the Traffic Department providing road condition information ahead of their journey.
“Caution matters! The road is in a state that also encourages safe driving. The humps and bumps will force one to slow down and not speed up,” Gondwe said.

The festival which has hosted several top local and international artists has since started selling early bird tickets at discounted rates at selected outlets in Lilongwe, Blantyre, Zomba and Mzuzu.
LoS has also said festival goers should watch the space for the headliners this year.
