Up-and-coming Malawi National Football Team attacker Robert Saizi dreams of playing for Zambian side Zanaco are up in the smoke as his club Bangwe All Stars considers K13.5 million on the lower side, Times Sport has learnt.
Nicknamed Gomes, Saizi has reportedly impressed during his trials in Zambia, having left the country last week.
Sources indicated that Zanaco are ready to offer Saizi a contract and pay Bangwe K13.5 million transfer fee.
However, confusion has emerged as Bangwe have teamed up with Saizi’s parent club Play Football Malawi Academy (PFM) in demanding about K17 million as they value the Flames youngster at around K18 million and K20 million.

Bangwe Chairperson Mphatso Jika, who bought the player from the Lilongwe-based academy at K3 million, said they cannot reduce their asking price as they are supposed to pay PFM 20 percent of the transfer fee.
“We are at pains to sell the player on the lower side as we are also supposed to pay a 20 percent cut to his boyhood club. When we contacted the academy, they also felt that Zanaco’s offer was on the lower side,” Jika said.
PFM Director Dave Mpima said their valuation of the player is at between K18 million and K20 million.
Both Jika and Mpima said they do not want middlemen [agents] to be involved in the deal.

Meanwhile, the deal’s broker Haroon Cassim has said he is afraid the deal might collapse if both parties do not agree on time as there are many players the team [Zanaco] is chasing.
“The team has already agreed personal terms with Robert and that includes game bonuses and salary. He is geared to face new challenges in Zambia,” Cassim said.
Saizi moved to Bangwe at the start of last season.
Meanwhile, Kenyan FCB Nyasa Big Bullets defender Clyde Senanji has said it was an easy decision for him to extend his contract with the club due to strong bond.
Senanji penned a new two-year contract, keeping him at the People’s Team until February 2026.
The Kenyan, who was an influential player for Bullets in the just ended season, having won the quadruple, told the club’s website that he was excited to stay put.
“My strong bond with Malawians and everybody associated with this great club also convinced me to have some more time here. I am a person who is open to new ideas and that is why I would only stay for a year at my previous clubs, but I thought it wise to continue my chapter here,” Senanji said. The 27-year old versatile defender, who can also play as defensive midfielder, made 30 appearances for Bullets in domestic competitions.
He also featured in all the four Caf Champions League matches for Bullets.
Bullets have already extended contracts for Ephraim Kondowe, Anthony Mfune and Precious Phiri. On top of that, they have re-signed Nigerian striker Babatunde Adepoju on a season-long loan deal from Venda Academy.
However, they have also released eight players namely Rabson Chiyenda, Mac Fallen Mgwira, Collins Okumu, Eric Kaonga, Rahaman John, Righteous Banda, Chinedu Okafor and White Kitsen.
