The Super League of Malawi (Sulom) has opened investigations into the violent behaviour of alleged FCB Nyasa Big Bullets supporters.
This follows an incident that happened after the first round final clash between the People’s Team and Karonga United at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre on Sunday.
Ugly scenes marred the end of the match as some individuals threw missiles onto the pitch, damaged the team bus and threatened players and officials.
In a statement released Monday, Sulom said the matter has been referred to the league governing body’s disciplinary committee for appropriate action.

“Sulom further urges the leadership of FCB Nyasa Big Bullets to take appropriate remedial measures,” the statement reads.
This is the second consecutive incident involving alleged Bullets supporters at the Blantyre sports facility in a space of two weeks.
A fortnight ago, a fan descended from the stands and stole a towel belonging to Blue Eagles goalkeeper Joshua Waka during a TNM Super League match.
Last week, the league governing body charged Bullets for the misconduct.

In a related development, Bullets, in a statement released Monday, also condemned the behaviour of the suspected fans.
“As a club built on the values of sportsmanship, perseverance, professionalism and fair play, we unequivocally denounce such behaviour.
“These acts undermine the progress we have made in creating a safe and welcoming environment for all supporters and risk bringing the club, its sponsors, and partners into disrepute,” the statement reads.
Bullets said they would work closely with law enforcement agencies to investigate and identify the culprits.

Meanwhile, Bullets coach Peter Mponda has taken a swipe at the team’s supporters, saying he does not understand the criticism levelled against him.
Mponda was reacting to the frustrations of the supporters that led to violent behaviour after the match.
“I do not understand the motive of the supporters. I think they are just few disgruntled supporters who want to disturb the team. They are not true supporters of the team,” Mponda said.
Mponda insisted, despite all the criticism, that he had already matched what Bullets achieved last year.
Following the draw, Bullets finished the second round second with 34 points, one point behind leaders Mighty Wanderers, who were held to a goal-less stalemate by Civil Service United on Sunday.
At the same stage last year, Bullets had 23 points from 15 matches, 14 points behind Silver Strikers.
