The 2025 TNM Super League title race took a pivotal twist as leaders FCB Nyasa Big Bullets lost 2-0 to Moyale Barracks at Mzuzu Stadium in Mzuzu City on Wednesday.
It was Bullets’ sixth defeat of the season in 27 matches in the league.
With four matches to go, the title race is too early to call as the top three teams are just separated by three points.
Despite suffering the defeat, Bullets are still at the summit of the table with 59 points from 27 matches, above second-placed Mighty Wanderers on goal difference.
But Wanderers can leapfrog them should they beat Karonga United at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre this afternoon.

For Bullets, the defeat to Moyale was their second in three consecutive matches, having lost to Creck Sporting Club by a similar margin last week.
In start contract, defending champions Silver Strikers maintained their impressive run in the title race with a hard fought 1-0 victory over Ekhaya FC at Mpira Stadium in Blantyre.
The win means Silver have reduced the gap between them and leaders Bullets and second-placed Mighty Wanderers to three points.
Both Wanderers and Silver have played 26 matches against Bullets’ 27.

Bullets can reach a maximum of 68 points if they win all the three matches against Ekhaya, Mighty Tigers and Mzuzu City Hammers whereas Wanderers can have 71 points.
The Nomads have remained with Karonga, Civil Service United, Moyale and Kamuzu Barracks.
Silver can collect a maximum of 68 points. They have remained with Karonga, Mafco, Hammers and Blue Eagles.
At Mzuzu Stadium yesterday, a first-half brace from Lameck Mithi was enough for Moyale to collect maximum points.
Mithi, who was named player of the match, opened the scoring in the 34th minute before he completed his brace before the break.
The win was a big boost for Moyale as they have moved to position 10 with 36 points from 27 matches.
After the match, Bullets Assistant Coach Gilbert Chirwa rued missed chances.
“We have made things difficult for ourselves but we will keep on fighting,” he said.
Moyale Coach Pritchard Mwansa praised players for the win.
“The boys had a good performance and I am very happy,” he said.
Elsewhere, Eagles thrashed KB 3-1 at Nankhaka Ground.
Webster Mzunda, Tonic Viyuyi and Laurent Banda scored for Eagles whereas Zeliati Nkhoma scored for KB.
