Malawians Tuesday commemorated Martyrs’ Day, with faith leaders and other stakeholders calling for peace, unity and economic stability.
President Peter Mutharika, represented by Minister of Transport and Public Works Jappie Mhango, said true freedom goes beyond political independence.
Speaking at Chipopoma Ground in Nkhata Bay District, Mhango said the martyrs left a lasting message for Malawians to stand for what is right and work towards national development.
