Reggae group Black Missionaries, which continues with the mission that its founder the late Evison Matafale started, has said that they will be releasing two singles next month.
The group’s lead vocalist Anjiru Fumulani said they have taken a different approach in doing things and that it was no longer business the usual.
“In the past years, we have even taken a break to go to the studio and work on an album for a month but this time, we will be working on singles and then we drop them one by one then we will compile them into an album,” Anjiru said.
He said they will maintain their Kuimba series despite changing the concept.
“This December, we will drop two singles and then next year, we will keep pace with the singles and then compile them into an album,” Anjiru said.

The move comes barely three days after the reggae group successfully held the 22nd edition of the Matafale Memorial at Civil Ground, Gadaga, Chileka which attracted thousands of people.
“We miss Evison Matafale, Musamude Fumulani and Gift Fumulani and other fallen artists and we will continue to celebrate their lives.
“We are thankful to people for turning out in large numbers and at the same time, maintaining discipline, there was no violence,” he said.
Anjiru hailed sponsors such as Thom and Barbara Foundation and Kabula Safety Industrial Specialists for the support during the free-of-charge event.

“It is always good to have sponsors and it seems people now understand the treasure of this event. We will still continue to improve it and also use it as a platform to disseminate key messages such as mental health,” he said.
The show on Sunday attracted thousands of people, some of which walked to and from the different corners of Blantyre including Mbayani, Chemusa, Ndirande and Machinjiri.
There was heavy security on the way through to the memorial with the police searching vehicles.
Unlike in some editions when the memorial has been disrupted by rains, this time it was a bright sunny day.
Apart from Black Missionaries and Anthony Makondetsa, Khozie Masimbe, Moda Fumulani and Yanjanani Chumbu, other acts that starred at the memorial hosted by Selekta Rokaz and DJ Dummex included Young Generations, Kommuniq, Ndindi Mally and The Stage Makers, Toza Matafale, Don Tarz and Anne Matumbi.
