The nation is in mourning following the death of Vice President Saulos Chilima and eight others, who died in a plane crash last Monday in Chikangawa Forest in Mzimba District, and, so, gospel musician and worshipper Apostle Enesia Chitheka Louis decided to take to the stage to hold a Soaked in Worship concert.
The concert, held at Times Entertainment Studios in Blantyre, saw Apostle Chitheka and crew, which included her sons and daughters, take people on a ride of gospel melodies that served to celebrate the life of the Vice President and eight others.
In her singing, Apostle Chitheka took time to minister the word of God, preaching of God’s love and also calling upon Him to be with the families of the departed souls and strengthen them during this difficult time.
The three-hour concert came barely a week after Apostle Chitheka also held a successful gospel mission in Mozambique.
Initially, people were expected to pay on entry but, in respect of the departed souls, Apostle Chitheka said they decided that the concert should be free of charge.

“We are in mourning as a nation and, so, this concert is there to minister the word of God through music and also pray for the families of the departed souls. We had to do it and I am happy that it has been a success. May their souls rest in peace,” she said.
Apostle Chitheka said she was happy to take a moment to acknowledge the tragic loss of the Vice President and the eight others.
“My heart goes out to the families, friends and the entire nation during this difficult time.
Let us honour their memory by coming together in unity, love and respect,” she said.
