Nearly a year after the government embarked on expenditure-control measures, a fresh directive restricting workshops and meetings has reopened a bigger question: How much money has actually been saved?
Chief Secretary to the Government Justin Saidi has directed ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) to stop conducting government-funded workshops, seminars, conferences, meetings and other official engagements outside duty stations.
