FCB Nyasa Big Bullets President Konrad Buckle has challenged the People’s Team to repeat the 2023 exploits when they won a domestic quadruple.
Buckle said this after rewarding the team with K15 million for winning the Airtel Top 8 cup for the fourth time, including three successive titles.
Bullets defeated Silver Strikers 4-3 on post-match penalties after the game ended in a 1-1 draw during the regulation time at Bingu National Stadium
Buckle said the team had recovered from a turbulent season hence rewarding the players to aim for titles.
“I had to give them the sum as an appreciation to the coach, technical panel and players for a fantastic competitive final,” he said.

This is a morale booster as Bullets partners Swift Holdings also gave the players K15 million while the teams’ sponsors, First Capital Bank, gave each player K500,000.
When asked what targets he had given the team, Buckle paused and said that his desire was for the side to win a quadruple.
“We are now building the team again and we need to nurture and breed depth and quality of players that can make Bullets compete on an international level. I need four trophies in total,” Buckle said.
However, the Bullets president paid tribute to the team’s supporters for rallying behind the team and gracing the Airtel Top 8 final in large numbers.

“To see the turnout yesterday [on Sunday] was a humbling experience. To understand that the Bullets fans are a family that they have come from all over the country to support the team. The number of fans who watched the game is unheard of and shows the tremendous strength and following of the Bullets family,” he said.
During the 2023 season, Bullets won the TNM Super League, Airtel Top 8, FDH Bank Cup and Castel Challenge Cup.
However, last season the People’s Team only defended the Airtel Top 8 and surrendered the rest, finishing third in the league, losing in semifinals in Castel Challenge Cup and going down in the FDH Bank Cup final.
Meanwhile, Bullets Coach Peter Mponda warned his charges against getting complacent.
“Bullets is a demanding club. We should not over celebrate or get carried away because winning is part of the club’s culture. It has been winning before I arrive, and I am just continuing where my predecessor left off. We made it tough for ourselves,” Mponda said.
