Police say the mob violence situation in the Shire Valley districts of Chikwawa and Nsanje is now under control, with no new cases of violence or killings reported in the past four days.
Over the past two weeks, the two districts recorded a spate of mob attacks and killings targeting people falsely accused of being responsible for the alleged superstitious disappearance of some men’s private parts.
The unrest led to the deaths of eight people over claims that have since been dismissed as false by both security and medical personnel.
