Former Zathu Band member Theresa Phondo has kept up her music trek, thriving by bringing out new songs, with the latest release of an upbeat-pop and-praise song titled ‘Yewo’.
The double project in audio and video, ‘Yewo’, which in Tumbuka means ‘Thank You’, is Theresa’s second release of the year following up on the success of her chart topping single ‘Testimony’ which earned her playlist placement on Spotify’s African Gospel Hits and Radar Africa editorial playlists reaching over 170,000 listeners.
In the song, Theresa is expressing gratitude and devotion to God.
“I am acknowledging God as a provider and ultimate being who is worthy of all praise. His creation, protection, love and the sacrifice on calvary are more than enough to be grateful for; so, yewo,” she said.
She adds: “Colossians 2 vs 6-7 reminds us of the importance of gratitude and spiritual steadfastness: as we received Christ Jesus as Lord, we should continue to live our lives in Him, rooted and built up in Him, strengthened in the faith as we were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness. That is the heart of ‘Yewo’”.
