The Competition and Fair Trading Commission (CFTC) is developing guidelines aimed at protecting smallholder farmers from unfair practices in contract farming arrangements.
The guidelines are aimed at addressing concerns like delayed payments of proceeds, unfair pricing and unilateral changes to contracts.
