National Football Coaches Association (NFCA) Chairperson Aubrey Nankhuni and General Secretary Davie Mpima will represent the association during the forthcoming Football Association of Malawi (Fam) elective Annual General Assembly, slated for December 16 in Mzuzu.
The body became the first affiliate to make the names of its delegates public ahead of the polls.
NFCA announced the delegates at a press briefing held in Lilongwe yesterday.
“We have come out in the open because we are representing the views of the coaches in Malawi. We met all the candidates and we believe we made the right choice,” Mpima said.
Fam was Friday expected to publish to the public names of the delegates to the AGM.
As of Friday afternoon, Fam had not communicated to the affiliates the exact place of the elective AGM.
In an interview, Fam General Secretary Alfred Gunda said logistics are at an advanced stage ahead of the meeting.
“We needed to firm up on the availability of the venue,” Gunda said.
NFCA is among the five member associations that nominated Super League of Malawi (Sulom) president Fleetwood Haiya as presidential candidate.
Sulom, Northern Region Football Association (NRFA), National Referees Association (NRA) and Beach Soccer Association (BSA) also nominated Haiya whereas incumbent Fam president Walter Nyamilandu was nominated by Southern Region Football Association (SRFA), Central Region Football Association (CRFA) and National Youth Association (NYFA).
