Driemo, who did exceptionally well last year, including releasing his debut album titled Mzaliwa, said ‘Trailer’ has been inspired by the experiences that people go through in their day to day life.
“We all experience pain at some point in time to the extent of questioning our decisions, sometimes we ask God himself as to why we always have to suffer before things get better. Some wish they had done things better or made better decisions,” the artist, who performed in Ireland for the first time last year, said.
He sings in the opening verse that… mwina mwake moyowu ukanayamba ndima trailer kuti tizitha kuwona momwe ukanayendera/ mukadatipatsako manual yomazembera mikango, njira zopedzera chuma tisamachite kuwona zilango/mukanayika nyali mwina, tisamagwere phwayi mwina, tiziwadziwa adani mwina…
Driemo intones in the track that there are unanswered questions that need answers and, so, “we need super power” to know “our tomorrow”.
His conclusion is that God knows everything and thus calls upon Him to be the chauffeur in all the affairs… “Wodziwa ndinu, wolenga ndinu, mwini wazonse ndinu mukhale dalaiva…”
Listening to the song, one can only say that Driemo has preserved his unique style.
Driemo has since thanked people for the support they continue showing him in his music career.
“I am Driemo today because of the immense support that they continue to give me and this motivates me to keep on crafting songs. It is great to have a song doing wonders on the ground at the moment; it shows we are ready for the year and people should expect more than this,” he said.
His manager Van Ngongo said the response from people so far underlines great love that they have for Driemo.
“Generating 162K views within a day is no mean achievement. This means people love the product; it is a record for Malawi. Driemo will keep pushing,” he said of the track whose music video was directed by Twice P.
