The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) says it is investigating four employees of the Electricity Generation Company of Malawi (Egenco) for allegedly being involved in a dubious consultancy contract worth $105,650 (about K183 million) that the company awarded to Hong Kong-based company, AGA Limited.
The matter dates back to 2023, when the company is said to have awarded AGA Limited the deal, under contract number EGC 581/55/G/FY 2022-23, for a grid integration assessment of Chimgonda hydro-power plant.
