Finance Minister Joseph Mwanamvekha has disclosed that two flagship programmes—the Mega Farms initiative and National Economic Empowerment Fund (Neef) farm-input loans—are now subject to a full audit.
He said this follows reports of abuse and misallocation of resources.
The development comes barely a week after President Peter Mutharika described the Mega Farms concept as good but fraught with challenges such as favouritism and corruption.
